A graduate of Duke University in Economics, Bill is the Founding Partner of Dodd Consulting, LLC, in 1964 and has spent his entire career in the insurance business. Bill is a licensed insurance professional and has a FINRA Series 7 securities registration. He is also a Registered Representative of M Holdings Securities, Inc., a Registered Broker Dealer and member of FINRA and SIPC.

Bill is a long time member of the Million Dollar Round Table and a past Chairman of the Top of the Table. He was President of the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation, as well as an Excalibur Knight and Inner Circle member of this charitable organization. The MDRT Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Million Dollar Round Table* the Premier Associations of Financial Professionals, and provides a vehicle for MDRT members and others in the industry to combine their philanthropic activities with their fellow professionals. He is also a past Board member of the International Forum and a member of the Legislative Circle of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriters (AALU).

Bill is an avid fund-raiser for the United Way and Morristown Memorial Hospital. He is a former board member of Montclair Golf Club and committee chairman at the Morris County Golf Club, Morristown Field Club and the Duke University Alumni Association.
